Michel Sáenz Castro is a Mexican filmmaker and audiovisual professional best known as the younger son of celebrated Mexican actress, singer, and television personality Verónica Castro. Although he grew up in one of Mexico’s most recognizable entertainment families, Michel chose a career that largely keeps him behind the camera rather than in front of it. His work has included cinematography, film production, television, advertising, and other visual projects. In 2026, renewed attention surrounding his professional work has made his career particularly relevant to people searching for information about Verónica Castro’s son. Quick Bio Table Detail Information Full name Michel Sáenz Castro Known as Michel Castro / Mich Castro Nationality Mexican Profession Filmmaker, producer, cinematographer Mother Verónica Castro Father Enrique Niembro Half-brother Cristian Castro Education Communication studies in Mexico; film studies at New York Film Academy Production company After Life Films Spouse Florencia Serrano Career focus Film, cinematography, television and audiovisual production Who Is Michel Sáenz Castro? Michel Sáenz Castro is the second and younger son of Verónica Castro. His mother became internationally recognized through Mexican television, especially telenovelas, while his older maternal half-brother Cristian Castro developed a major career as a singer. Michel followed a different creative route, concentrating on filmmaking and production. Rather than using his family name primarily to pursue acting or music, he developed professional skills in communications, cinematography, and visual storytelling. This distinction is important when understanding his biography because Michel’s public identity is connected to the Castro family, but his professional work has largely developed independently. One detail that frequently creates confusion in online biographies is Michel’s age and date of birth. Several Spanish-language publications have identified April 9, 1989 as his birth date, while more recent reporting has pointed out that other sources give different years, including 1981 and 1983. Because these accounts conflict and there is no consistently cited official biographical record establishing one date beyond dispute, it is more accurate to describe his age cautiously rather than repeat one unverified birthday as fact. Michel Sáenz Castro’s Parents and Family Background Michel is the son of Verónica Castro and Mexican businessman Enrique Niembro. Verónica has discussed her relationship with Niembro in interviews, explaining that their relationship occurred during the 1980s and that marriage plans did not ultimately happen. Unlike his mother and brother, Michel has generally avoided making his family circumstances a central part of his public identity. His relationship with his father has also received renewed attention after Michel discussed it publicly in 2025. Michel explained in that 2025 interview that he has maintained communication with his biological father for many years, although they do not see each other frequently. He also credited his mother with making sure he knew his father and spoke appreciatively about the effort Verónica made to raise him and provide him with educational opportunities. His comments offered a comparatively personal look at the family background behind the filmmaker, while also reinforcing how important Verónica Castro has been in his life. His Relationship With Verónica Castro The connection between Michel Sáenz Castro and Verónica Castro is one of the most searched aspects of his biography. Verónica has two sons, Cristian and Michel, and both have remained important figures in her personal life. Michel, however, has generally maintained a quieter public presence than his mother. He occasionally appears alongside her at family events and has spoken about her in interviews, but he has not built his career around being the son of a famous actress. Their relationship has also crossed into professional territory. Michel worked in filmmaking on projects involving his mother, giving them an unusual opportunity to collaborate from different sides of the entertainment industry. In particular, his cinematography work on Dime cuando tú coincided with Verónica Castro appearing in the film. This illustrates the difference between their careers: Verónica performs before the camera, while Michel contributes to the visual construction of a production from behind it. Education and Film Training Michel Sáenz Castro reportedly studied communications in Mexico before continuing his education in the United States. Multiple entertainment publications identify the New York Film Academy as part of his advanced film training. His education helped establish the technical foundation for a career that would eventually include cinematography and production rather than traditional acting. That educational direction also helps explain why Michel’s professional path differs from those of other members of his family. Verónica Castro became known for acting, singing, and television presenting, while Cristian Castro became a recording artist. Michel developed an interest in the mechanics of visual storytelling—camera work, production, and filmmaking. His career therefore represents another branch of the family’s connection to entertainment without simply repeating the same performer-centered formula. Michel Castro’s Career Behind the Camera Michel’s professional career has included work as a filmmaker, producer, and cinematographer. Reports have connected him with After Life Films, a production company involved in projects for television, advertising, and film. His work has also included collaborations involving well-known Mexican entertainers, including projects associated with Gloria Trevi and his brother Cristian Castro. His professional credits provide a clearer picture of his career than celebrity-family coverage alone. Film databases identify cinematography or director-of-photography work under variations of his professional name, including Michelle Castro and Mich Castro. This explains why searches for “Michel Sáenz Castro” can sometimes produce apparently different results even when the references concern the same filmmaker. His documented credits include Dime cuando tú, Enfermo Amor, Fuga de reinas, Caras Vemos, and Loco por ella. Recent Work in 2026 Michel Sáenz Castro’s professional activity continued into 2026. Current film-credit information identifies Mich Castro as the cinematographer for Socias por accidente, a 2026 comedy. Other reporting has also highlighted the film as a recent example of his continuing work in cinematography. The project is particularly notable because actress Bárbara de Regil publicly discussed how working with Michel on the movie helped connect her with Verónica Castro. The 2026 information is useful because it shows that Michel is not simply known because of his family background. His name continues to appear in contemporary film production credits. The range of projects associated with him over the years—from feature films and advertising to television and music-related visual work—indicates a sustained involvement with the audiovisual industry rather than a short-lived celebrity venture. Michel Sáenz Castro and Cristian Castro Michel is the maternal half-brother of singer Cristian Castro, Verónica Castro’s older son. The brothers followed noticeably different professional paths. Cristian became a highly visible recording artist, while Michel developed his career behind the camera. Despite that difference, they remain connected through their family and occasional professional or public appearances. Michel has also spoken publicly about the relationship between Verónica and Cristian. In 2026, reports quoted him describing their relationship as involving disagreements followed by reconciliations, while emphasizing that there was no permanent estrangement. His comments offered a family member’s perspective but should be understood as his own description of their relationship rather than an independently verifiable assessment of every private family interaction. Personal Life and Marriage Michel Sáenz Castro has maintained a considerably more private personal life than many entertainment figures. Several established Spanish-language entertainment outlets report that he married Florencia Serrano in 2017. Public reporting about their relationship exists, but Michel has generally kept his private affairs away from the level of exposure associated with his mother and brother. That privacy is an important part of understanding Michel’s public profile. His career has placed him inside the entertainment industry without requiring him to become a constant celebrity presence. Information about his finances, private household, and other personal matters is limited or inconsistent in public sources, so claims about his net worth or other unverified private details should not be treated as established facts. Why Michel Sáenz Castro Remains Interesting Michel Sáenz Castro’s story is distinctive because it combines a famous family background with a comparatively private professional identity. Being Verónica Castro’s son naturally attracts public interest, but his career has developed through technical and creative work that does not depend on appearing on television or performing music. His education in communications and filmmaking, association with After Life Films, and cinematography credits provide a substantive career story of their own. His recent work also gives the biography a current dimension. As of 2026, film databases continue to credit him in cinematography, including Socias por accidente. At the same time, his comments about his family and his relationship with his father have provided occasional insight into a person who usually remains behind the scenes. Taken together, these details show Michel as a filmmaker whose public identity is shaped both by his famous family and by a professional career he has built within Mexican audiovisual production. Conclusion Michel Sáenz Castro is the younger son of Verónica Castro and Mexican businessman Enrique Niembro, as well as the maternal half-brother of singer Cristian Castro. Although his family is deeply associated with acting, television, and music, Michel chose filmmaking and cinematography as his professional direction. His reported studies in communications and film helped prepare him for work behind the camera, while his association with After Life Films and his cinematography credits established a separate identity within the entertainment industry. Current information from 2026 shows that Michel remains involved in film production, including cinematography work on Socias por accidente. His relatively private lifestyle, continued relationship with Verónica Castro, and different career path from Cristian make his biography more than a story about being a celebrity’s son. At the same time, some commonly repeated personal details—particularly his exact birth date and age—remain inconsistent across sources, so careful reporting is important when discussing Michel Sáenz Castro.
